You might think you don`t know this work, but the opposite is true. Try listening to a sample of this work. The very first notes convince you that you`ve heard this music somewhere before. And believe me, once you hear it, you can`t forget it. The authorship is attributed to the German composer Carl Orff. He became a symbol of musical romanticism, in which he used elements of medieval art. The inspiration for Carmina Burana comes from texts that deal with love, passion and nature.

The collection of these texts is unique. Their story takes place in medieval monasteries and universities, where the world of spirituality and secular culture mingled. Orff approached these texts with the idea of reviving the original ideas of medieval authors and transferring them to modern times. In doing so, he created a musical work that combines elements of rhythm and emotion. The very first performance of Carmina Burana took place in 1937 in Munich. Since then, people can listen to it practically all over the world. You can also enjoy this exceptional work in the Czech Republic.
